Sat was indeed a fun day for all that attended? It had a fuzzy beginning with the light rain setting in as Gail ,Rev Mike Jordan, Cedrick & I were pulling up to the grounds, was tempted to pull the plug & go back home, but decided to make the best of it. Setting up was really difficult with light rain & scorching temperatures, but we endured. With the chuck wagon, Buffalo Solider & Native American program all ready to go by 9:00 the sun came out and the fun began. All three 1298 Programs were a big hit with the many visitors ,more than several thousand I'm told, and as always we picked up a couple new members youth that will be at the meeting this Sat ( Wisdom)
Congratulations to: Anthony 1st place Costume Cedrick 2nd place costume Olivia 1st place costume Candis 2nd place costume Also Ervin & Jordan for taking 2nd place in washer pitching competition, pure luck by our opponent took away at the last moment. Oh Well! Roger & Tony got put in the local Jail; I don't know who would have a thing like that done?? But do know that Gail & Jordan had me chased down & put in the hoosegow, any ways we generated a lot of money for a good cause! Sam (event organizer) brought by some special people to our programs, to tell the history: Chuck Wagon: a descendant of the Chilsom family Buffalo Solider: a professional Actor & Story Teller, who really drew a crowd. Every time the Lodge Pole Drum & Singers performed a very large crowd would gather. This was the most fun I ever had since the last time I had this much fun with the Crew. Thanks to all who help make it happen |
