The purpose of the blacksmith program is to introduce youth and adults to the art of shaping metal into useful and pleasing forms.

Blacksmithing is the shaping of hot iron by use of hammer, tongs, and assorted other tools.
The blacksmith program supports the other programs by making tools and accessories as needed. The blacksmith program also includes foundry, the shaping of metal by casting.
The foundry program produces various pieces including soldiers and chess pieces
