Crew Meeting Meeting Oct. 9th

We will be having our monthly crew meeting on Oct. 9th at 11:00 AM. The meeting will last no longer than 1:00 pm. We will be meeting in the blacksmith shop.

We will be discussing:
Popcorn Reminder
Parent and Pal (who will be there and what will be being done.)
Winter Activity (decision made, yes or no on activity.)
Highland Night Out (decision yes or not, and date.)
Youth Protection training reminder for adults.

We are going to have the meeting this coming weekend, and meet starting around 9:00 am. We will be sharing the pool with at least 3 other unit. Please remember to bring 2.00 to cover the cost of the pool. We will be having pizza for lunch (change of plans) please bring some cash for this 5.00 or so. We will have water to go with lunch due to the heat outside.

We are planning to have the meeting around 1:00 and eat around 12:00.

July 10th Crew 1298 Meeting

Hope everyone is having a great summer, we have out July meeting coming up on July 10th. We have another group that wants to come out and see what we’re all about. Let’s start the day early around 9 or so, fire up the forges and have a good time.

The meeting will be at the blacksmith shop at Camp Wisdom Dallas, Texas.

What’s everybody’s vote for lunch do we want to cook something there or go out and eat? Please leave a reply on the post, or e-mail the crew 1298 yahoo group list.

Scout Show Wrap-up

I want to thank everyone that was able to come out for the great job they did with the setup and tear down. We were one of the 1^st groups in, and the 1^st or 2^nd group out at tear down time. This was the best year as the wagon was ½ way home to Corsicana at 3:45 and by that time I was unloaded at Camp Wisdom and on my way home. Much different from the years before where it was starting to get dark before we were started home.

We had lots of traffic though out the day with lots of questions and oos and ahh’s .

Let’s get ready for a good meeting June the 12^th at Camp Wisdom with some blacksmithing in the morning and maybe a lunch as it looks as we will have some visitors.

Venturing Crew 1298 would like to invite you to attend a Highland Night Out at Camp Wisdom Circle 10 Council Dallas Texas March the 20th 2009.

This year we will be celebrating Scottish New years.

The evening will begin with presentation of the Haggis and then dinner.
We will follow dinner with a dance for all ages.
The cost for the evening is 20.00 in advance or 25 at the door.

We will eat dinner at 6:00 pm.

An Advisors Note – Jan. 2010

I would like to take the time to thank everyone for their work and support this past year youth and adult.

We look towards the new year as a year of growing for crew 1298 and a new chapter in our book.

February 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of Venturing Crew 1298 (if my math is correct), 2010 also marks 100 years of BSA. We have the Fort Worth Western Heritage Celebration set for January 16th, Highland Ball has been set for March 20th, please see the linked pages for more details on these events.. We also have the Feed the Troops comming soon in San Antonio, I do not have a date, but once I do will let everyone know. I am sure we will have more on the calendar but those are the ones that I know of at this time.

This coming year I would challenge every youth and adult to recruit 1 active youth member we need to grow our youth membership.

Please remember we meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month at Camp Wisdom, the meeting will happen at 1:00pm, however most times people will arrive early to blacksmith talk and just have a good time.

The next meeting will be January the 9th.

New website design

We have released our new website layout on our new server. All of the gallery has now been uploaded, and is available under the gallery. There are a few events that I am missing pictures. If you have any images from these events or see some events that I am missing please let me know so that we can get them uploaded. Please let me know of you find any issues on the site so I can fix the it/them. We are also wiring on some of the graphics and layouts of set of the pages

Monthly Meeting

Sat. Aug. 8th is our monthly crew meeting we will start around 10:00 am with some blacksmithing, hanging out and having a good old time. We will then have the meeting around 1:00 pm then we will have some more fun after wards what will we do, well don’t know but you know it will be fun so come out and have some fun with us.
